The SP Brewery Foundation Inc. is an initiative of SP Brewery’s community empowerment program, delivered and run by PILAG, PNG’s premier public sector training institution.
The program aims to develop the leadership capabilities of future leaders in all levels of the public service and strengthen participants’ core public sector competencies, including project management, financial management, human resource management, and ethics and values-based leadership.
The joint training partnership began in 2017. Since then the program has reached out to more than 100 future leaders in the public service. The participants come from public administrations in NCD, Momase and the New Guinea Islands regions. The current graduating participants, from the New Guinea Islands region, form the third cohort of this program and the second to receive this leadership training at the sub-national level.
This program embraces public private partnership in the delivery of education services in the country. As this partnership evolves, SPB hopes to see an improvement in the delivery of goods and services by the Government. The scholarship program sets an important benchmark for the public service in PNG.
The partnership with SP Brewery Foundation is an example of the collaborative partnerships PILAG is building with private and public sector organisations throughout PNG.
