A non-alcoholic beer has reached Papua New Guinea’s shores and will soon be selling in shops, bars and restaurants in Port Moresby and Lae.
South Pacific Brewery (SPB) today launched Heineken 0.0 (pronounced Heineken zero zero) in Port Moresby in the presence of Customers, media and the Company’s senior management.
“As pioneering brewers in Papua New Guinea since 1952, we are committed to introducing new and innovative products to meet and develop Consumer needs. Heineken 0.0 has been a huge success in all the markets where it was introduced by fulfilling a consumer need and we expect this to be replicated in Papua New Guinea driven by great innovation on brewing technique and taste.” said SPB Managing Director, Ed Weggemans.
SP Brewery is committed to take bold moves to address issues affecting our society.
“These include:
The introduction of a non-alcoholic beer is a testament to the brewery’s bold strategy. “This empowers our consumers with choice and options for all their drinking occasions and addresses the global trend around the importance of living a balanced lifestyle.”
“Heineken 0.0 is a refreshing non-alcoholic lager, brewed with a unique recipe for a distinct balanced taste, which now allows you to enjoy a Heineken beer at any time of day and in any setting.”
“The alcohol-free beer segment is nonexistent in Papua New Guinea. Our ambition is to lead the category development here with a premium proposition from a brand that Consumers are proud to be seen with.”
We take our responsibility extremely seriously and, although Heineken 0.0 does not contain alcohol, we do not target consumers below the legal drinking age.
SP Brewery joins 59 other HEINEKEN Operating Companies who have introduced Heineken 0.0 in their markets.
